Colorless lobular or plate-like crystals. It has a strong fecal odor, and the pure product has a fresh floral fragrance after dilution. Melting point 52 ℃. Boiling point 253 ~ 254 ℃. Soluble in hot water, benzene and petroleum Ether, soluble in ethanol, ether and methanol. It can volatilize with water vapor, turn red when placed in the air or when exposed to light, and become resinous. It is weakly acidic, forms salts with alkali metals, and reacts with acids to form resins or polymerize. The highly diluted solution has a jasmine scent and can be used as a fragrance.

Application
