What is Biodegradable materials?

Biodegradable materials are materials that degrade due to the action of microorganisms existing in nature, such as bacteria, molds (fungi) and algae. The ideal biodegradable material is a kind of macromolecular material with excellent service performance, which can be completely decomposed by environmental microorganisms after being discarded, and finally be inorganic and become a part of the carbon cycle in nature. Fully meet the requirements of European and American degradation.

Such as polyhydroxyalkyl ester [PHA], polylactic acid [PLA], polycaprolactone [PCL], polyvinyl alcohol [PVA], polyadipic acid/butylene terephthalate [PBAT], polybutylene succinate [PBS] and the modification and copolymerization products of various biodegradable materials.

 

What is PBAT?

PBAT is a thermoplastic biodegradable plastic. It is a copolymer of butylene adipate and butylene terephthalate. It has both the characteristics of PBA and PBT. It has both good ductility and elongation at break, as well as Good heat resistance and impact performance; in addition, it also has excellent biodegradability. It is currently very active in the research of biodegradable plastics and one of the best degradable materials for market applications.

 

Biodegradable polyester (PBAT) can be broken down by microorganism into CO2, H2O and high quality organic fertilizers within 180 days under composting conditions without generating any poisonous gas. It is the main raw material for biodegradable plastic films which can help reducing white pollution.

Biodegradable Polyester (PBAT) uses one-step polymerization technology during production. It corresponds with American and European food contact safety standards, EN13432 and ASTM6400D standards. Its shelf life is 12 months under the condition of being stored in sealed packages. It can ensure a storage life of 12 months after being processed into finished products.
